Squares Anyone!

Good Morning! Exciting news for this week, well my family has a new kitten...named Tigger! I guess the old saying is NEVER say NEVER...guess I did that once to often....LOL.  She is very cute and has captured everyone's hearts.  She reminded us of one of my husbands kittens he had growing up.  We are now in for an adventure :)

We are on the last Thursday of August and at 4 Crafty Chicks our fabulous Lori is our Hostess.  Lori has asked us to use SQUARES for Challenge #157what a fantastic challenge. So many ways to be inspired by this challenge.

To make my squares below, I used two of my Stampin Up punches.  I thought it would be fun to make a baby card with these fabulous pattern papers. A clean and simple layout that really could be used with any kind of sentiment.
We hope that you will join us at 4 Crafty Chicks this week as we do love to see what idea's our challenges inspire in you.  I look forward to hopping on over to see what you have created.  My fellow DT's have awesome inspiration for you.

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment. They are appreciated.

Enjoy the journey of your day!

Have a Magical Day!

Good morning! Today, is back to school shopping for my kids and I.  It is going to be a fun day and hopefully the weather is nice.  Just a tad of exciting news to share with you.  My new craft room is completed and stuff is moved in, not completely organized as I am missing some much needed shelves and drawers (not sure where stuff is... :) but it is mine all the same, no sharing anymore.  When I get it fixed up pictures will follow :) My first creation was made yesterday in it and you get to see it today! Enough of that and onto our new Challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks!

Lori is our Hostess with the Mostess this week.  She is giving us a challenge that we haven't done in a while....Do you want to know what it is?  Well for Challenge # 156 - It is an Inspiration Photo that is down below.  It is full of vibrant colors, ripples and really this should get some creative juices flowing.  I know it did for me.

My card is below.  In order to incorporate the ripples I used my Cheveron embossing folder from Stampin Up.  The colors are the black, grey, white, blue, light purples, pink and a touch of green. It was fun to add the ribbon and the brad too :)
I would like to enter my card into Make it Monday -#`54- Anything Goes

My fellow chicks have some awesome inspiration for you over at 4 Crafty Chicks.  Hop on over to see them and then come and join us for our challenge.  We would love to see what you create from this picture!

Have a magical day and thank you so much for stopping by.

With Sympathy

Good morning! Well this week has been a wee bit exciting, basketball/volleyball camp, back to school shopping (feel like I am swearing when I say that *wink*), we celebrated a 40th birthday, babysitting a 7 year old and a 14 month old all week, I finished painting my new craft room (but just have to wait until it all dries before I can move my stuff in (and pretend to organize it better...LOL).  Here is hoping for this weekend). Today, I am going on a girls day with my fabulous friend Lori!  Enough about my week and onto our new challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks.

We are on Challenge #155 and it is my turn to give it to you.  My challenge to everyone is to create a sympathy card. Unfortunately we have needed way to many of these lately.

My card below uses Martha Stewart butterfly punches and the stamps are from Verve.  The paper is basic black, whisper white and Basic Grey.  It is a pretty clean and simple card but I tried to add some pop with the folding of the top two layers.  Hope it worked.

Please hop on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and show us what this challenge inspires in you.  I would love to come on over and see you wonderful creations.  My fellow chicks have made amazing creations for you to see.

Thank you so much for sharing my creation with me.

Here is a smile coming your way!!

A Little Black and White!

Good Morning! As I look out the window it is misty or foggy morning outside. Really not sure what kind of weather we are going to have today! The birds however are singing. We are on the last 5 days of my husbands holidays and I just can't believe how fast time has flown.  Yesterday consisted of going back to school shopping with our daughter who was in her glory! We also got a chance to watch our oldest play at his volleyball/basketball camp.  Another busy day in the neighborhood!

At 4 Crafty Chicks Melissa is our hostess with the mostess! Her challenge for us is to use Black and White - Challenge #154.  Scrapbooking, cards, 3D, knitting...what ever this challenge inspires in you!

The flower below was made out of one of Lori's die cuts and stampin Up's little flower punch.  Clean and Simple.  The scallop edging is also one of her dies.  Thanks for crafting with me.  It was a fun day!
I would love to enter my card into Make It Mondays - Anything Goes

We would love to see your creations over at 4 Crafty Chicks and I would love to come one over and comment! For more inspiration please hop on over, my fellow DT's have some amazing pieces of art.

4 Crafty Chicks - Bling

Hello and welcome to the first Thursday of August! Someone must have been playing a magic trick because July just went poof :)  I am enjoying time with my family.  My husband is on holidays now, so let the fun begin!!

We are on Challenge #153 over at 4 Crafty Chicks and our hostess with the mostess this week is none other than our one and only Leanne.  She is challenging us to use Bling!  I love bling but went for a more subtle version.  As I look at my card I should have put one more gem on it.  My card again is clean and simple.  This is another card that was made while crafting with Lori and these are more of her cutie patootie stamps.  She also gave me this cute little wooden tag to use. Thanks girlie for sharing your wonderful amazing stash with me!!
We would love to see your creations over at 4 Crafty Chicks.  Who doesn't love to use a little bit or a lot of bling. I can't wait to see what you share with us. If you want more inspiration please hop on over to see what Leanne, Lori and Melissa have created.

Thank you for stopping by.  Have an amazing week and don't forget to smile.

Pennants

Good Morning! Last week I had an amazing week in Ottawa and Quebec! The temperatures were +43-+45 every day.  It was a smoking hot and very humid week. My husband and I met so many wonderful people from all over the world (Bahamas, Trinidad, Russia, Australia, Jamaica, Africa, Colorado, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Texas, Montana, New York, BC, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Foundland...many, many more).  They were fabulous and I am so grateful that my husbands work gave us the opportunity to enjoy the World Conference of Credit Unions. The places I got to see were amazing and so much history. Towards the end of our trip meeting one of my Boot Camp buddies was simply amazing!  It truly was a great treat and blessing! Enough about me...lets get down to business.

Onto our 4 Crafty Chicks challenge this week.  Our beautiful hostess with the mostess is Lori and she has challenged us to use Pennants for Challenge #152.

My card below was a combined effort.  My daughter Kaitlyn wanted me to use these colors and the image...which surprisingly enough was the same colors for our cousins sons birthday party, which neither of us knew.  My mom lent me her pennant punch (thanks mom for letting me show case your punch).  I tried to fit three pennants on but my image was just to large.

We would love it if you would come on out and join us at 4 Crafty Chicks.  Each week we are blown away at the fabulous talent we have play with us.  It is one of the great things about being a DT is being able to see all of the wonderful works of art.  Be sure to hop on over and see the creations of the Leanne, Lori and Melissa creations they are FABULOUS!!

Thank you  so much for stopping by and for your comments each and every one is truly appreciated.  Have an amazing week.  A smile is being sent your way!

Let's Here It For The Boys!

Good Morning! I hope your week has been going well!  Over at 4 Crafty Chicks it is my turn to be the hostess!  Many times, I am short on these types of cards.  At times I find them really hard to make.  We are on Challenge # 151 - Let's Here It For The Boys!

Last Thursday I was lucky enough to have an amazing fun filled day crafting with my good friend Lori! It was a chance to get ahead on some of our DT commitments for the summer and have a blast doing it.  Thanks girlie it was a wonderful treat and thanks for sharing your goodies with me.  While there she let me dig into some of her stamps and have an absolute ball.  Both my boys love to box so when I saw this set of her Alley Way stamps, I knew that these stamps were calling out for a masculine card.  Both of my boys just love to do some boxing moves and have been asking for years for a bag and gloves.  At school they are able to workout with them which has saved me a little moola... :).  Products used are Stampin Up paper & embossing folder, Alley Way stamps, copics, and Martha Stewart punch.

Here is my creation and it will be entered into Make It Mondays:
We would love it if you came on out and shared your inspiration with us at 4 Crafty Chicks. I just love being inspired by your work.

Thank you so much for sharing inn this card! Have an amazing week and remember what ever you do don't forget to smile!!

Wine Improves with Age

Hello, how have you been? I have been working hard and hoping in the next month in a half to paint and move my craft room upstairs to my daughters old room.  Then I have to move our son Robin to my old craft/storage room area in the basement and my daughter to her brothers room all of which needs to be painted.  The nice part is that as I go a major gutting out is going on.  It just all takes time.

This week, over at 4 Crafty Chicks our hostess is Melissa.  For Challenge #150 she is challenging us to make a 3D project...no cards...so I went looking and found this cute box over at Dawns Stampin Thoughts.  A super quick and cute idea that you can do so much with.  My box below is made with Rich Razzleberry paper and whisper white. The stamp is from my Totally Stampalicous stash.

My husbands Rotary club put on a fundraiser and it was a wine tasting.  This stamp reminded me of that....there was so much laughter and great tasting wine.
I put a fat free treat in the box....a stamp pad *giggle*.  You could put chocolates in there, pearls, buttons, really anything and you could dress up the outside anyway you like.  I will be making this little box again, next time doing something up and down.
Quick and easy...hope you like it.
I would love to enter this into Make it Monday - Anything Goes

Please come on out and join us at 4 Crafty Chicks this week, we would love to see what you 3D project comes to mind for you.  My fellow DT's have awesome creations to share with you too.

Wishing you joy in your journey this week and what ever you do remember to smile! Thanks for sharing my creation with me.

You Are Pretty Amazing!

Good Morning to my fellow crafter's! It is the first week of holidays and it has been a blast! The weather started off rainy but man oh man when the heat came out.....it was a sudden heat wave.  On Tuesday we hit a balmy 34 degrees Celsius with our humidity at 44.  We are not used to so much humidity...oh my hair was completely crazy!  My kids were laughing and my dad actually said...didn't you have time to brush your hair....LOL.  I actually had 3 times before he saw it....hee hee.  I was lucky to have had my nephew for 5 days, craft with a friend, see my aunt from High River, my brother, nephew and his girlfriend surprised us it was fast but an awesome visit, and so much more excitement in our household! I do believe it is going to be one busy summer bring it on baby :)

Over at 4 Crafty Chicks we have a brand new challenge and Leanne is throwing the challenge out to everyone! When Leanne gave us the challenge it made me super giddy. Well I must say that this is one of my favorite techniques, (really LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT).  I kind of use it a lot *wink*!

CHALLENGE #149 - DRY EMBOSSING!!

Well I got to break out my new embossing folder from Stampin Up and the second embossing folder is from Cuttlebug. My paper is also from Stampin Up, the new in colors :)  Love them. It was a great day as I got to craft with Lori and have a good old visit and some much needed craft time to get me ahead and preview what I should get crafty with next.  The stamp on this card is one from Lori's stash, it was a perfect touch to this card thanks girlie!

My creation will be enter into Make it Monday - #147 -Anything Goes

Here is to some more sun and enjoying the journey of our summer together with family and friends! On Canada Day we were so lucky to enjoy the fireworks and I must say our little town out did themselves.

Cupcake Anyone?

Helloooooo! Today, is the last day of school in my house hold and the kids have been counting down.  It has been a busy week with field trips, exams, finishing off some extra curricular activities, before starting summer activities.  We have also had quite a few meetings to help keep life more interesting.  Our weather in Alberta hasn't been stellar the rain just keeps coming and my families thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who is dealing with trying to recover from all of the flooding in Alberta.

Onto our 4 Crafty Chicks challenge which is brought to us by non other than "Miss Lori".  I was thankful for this little challenge of  "CUPCAKES" because it gave me the chance to break out my old Verve cupcake set that was feeling sorely neglected...LOL.

So for this little number I broke out my dazzling diamonds, pearls, ribbon, punch, embossing folders, Verve cupcake and Stampin Up sentiment.  My paper is whisper white, pool party and chocolate chip. There you have it, it doesn't take long to whip up something when you have sweetness added to it :) .

I would love to enter my card into Make It Monday - Challenge #146 - Anything Goes

We would love to see what Lori's challenge inspires in you and I would love to come and share your creation. So please hop on over to 4 Crafty Chicks and come play!

Whatever you are doing this week don't forget to smile and whatever you are doing make sure you enjoy the journey and do it with passion!

Thank you so much for poppin in!

Sentiment Only!

Hello and good morning! Well the count down is on for all of my kids, school is almost out.  My oldest Tristan finished his high school classes yesterday, now for finals.  Robin and Kaitlyn's last day of classes is on Friday, then Robin has finals and Kaitlyn mostly has fun days next week.  Not sure where this school year went but it is awesome that there will be a little break of constant driving.

We are on Challenge #147 over at 4 Crafty Chicks...our challenges are flying by just like the months, guess good things go by fast when you are having fun.  I love to see what my friends come up with for each challenge.

One of my favorite things when checking out others work is looking at the sentiments.  The fonts, size and what it says always intrigues me.  So hence it is the challenge I am excited to give everyone over at 4 Crafty Chicks.

My card is a really plain and simple one but one that I loved with this embossing folder! I went with blue, white paper and black ink.  A sponge was also used with bashful blue ink to highlight a little of this beautiful embossing folder.  Thanks mom for letting me borrow it! I used this folder because it really makes a sentiment pop.  The stamp is from Verve and this sentiment can mean anything from fighting cancer to weight loss or school. It is an inspiring one!

I would love to enter my card into Make It Monday -  #145Anything Goes

Please come and join us this week for 4 Crafty Chicks.  We would love to see what you have for us!  Have an amazing week!

Thank you for stopping by and sharing my card with me this week.

Paper Pleating at 4 Crafty Chicks

Good Morning! Yesterday was a crazy day weather wise.  We had sun, rain, hail, wind, rainbows and I saw three funnel clouds forming outside of Edmonton yesterday! Driving threw the heavy rain was not fun at all.  My cousin took a picture of a water spout at Pigeon Lake, we don't normally see these.

Let's hope the weather is a little nicer today.  The best part of my day will be sharing my post with everyone and hopefully working out, as I am in for another stressful day....I am going to try to smile through it but some days it just seems so impossible.

At 4 Crafty Chicks we have another fun challenge this week.  It is brought to us by our talented Melissa.

CHALLENGE #146 - PAPER PLEATING

I have only ever done this type of paper pleating as a child.  I found a video on uTube that showed me two ways of doing it.  One way wetting the paper, crumpling  it up, letting it dry and then folding it or folding it and highlighting it with your ink.  I chose to do the second one.  My card stock is bashful blue, night of navy and crumb cake.  I made this card while cyber crafting with Leanne and chatting with Lori.

Be sure to check out 4 Crafty Chicks as our new GDT has another fabulous piece of work for you and for even more inspiration my fellow chicks have out done themselves.  We would love to see what this challenge inspires in you.

Have an amazing week, enjoy the journey and whatever you do don't forget to smile.

Thanks for stopping in and supporting my creations.

4 Crafty Chicks and Make It Monday

Good Morning to everyone! We had another thunderstorm last night with some very high winds and quite a bit of rain again. Not sure what the weather holds for us today but I am sure there will be sun some where in the forecast right?  So this week has been busy but it sure did have a special highlight for me.  My mom Bonnie, my daughter Kaitlyn and my middle son Robin went to see Diana a Celebration at West Edmonton mall. My kids had to write essays as they were missing school and they both did an amazing job.  I loved Princess Diana as a little girl and admired her work as an adult, so it was so much fun to learn about her childhood, see her wedding dress and countless others memorabilia and oh so much more.  It was a day of memories.  Okay enough about what I did this week and onto the good stuff 4 Crafty Chicks.

We would like to welcome our Guest Designer Nick from Nick's Scrap Shack. We will get to see 4 creations for the month of June.

Our beautiful hostess again this week is our one and only Leanne.  Now on this particular challenge I truly believe she is the Queen.  We are on Challenge #145...are you ready to here what the Challenge is?

Challenge  #145 - Flowers

Leanne just has a magical touch with working with flowers.  My fellow DT's are amazing too but I have to give this one over to Leanne she is totally the queen, there aren't to many creations without Flowers...she gets totally giddy over them...LOL.  Thank you Leanne, I truly did try to make some of my own, with several that didn't work out, a couple that looked like owl eyes, it was pretty funny.  So I incorporated an embossing folder with flowers on and an attempt at using punches to make a flowers.  All products are from SU! Rich razzleberry; basic black and vanilla with a splash of bling! It is another crisp, clean lined kind of card.
I would like to enter my card into Make It Monday - #143 - Anything Goes

We hope you will join us at 4 Crafty Chicks where you can make cards; scrapbook layouts, 3D items...  I would truly love to hope on over and see what our Flower challenge inspires in you.

Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing this creation with me.

Have an amazing day! A smile is coming you way!!

Thanks For Making Me Smile and 4 Crafty Chicks

Good, Good Morning! Can you believe that we are on the last Thursday of May?  Not sure where May has went but poof it is almost gone.  How was your week?  My week was another eventful one. It included a trip to the hospital for my oldest, an allergy/asthma attack for my daughter, running around, going to an art/music festival and watching the rain poor down and flood the streets in Wetaskiwin.  It was crazy to drive in!  The nice part about this last week was that I did find a little bit of time to cyber craft with Leanne and spending sometime with my brother, my parents and aunt and uncle.

We are having another fun challenge this week over at 4 Crafty Chicks.  We are on the 5th Thursday of May so that means it is our Crazy Egg challenge! Our fantastic hostess is Leanne! She has an outstanding challenge for us, do you want to hear what it is?
CHALLENGE #143
3R's - RECYCLING
(it can be 3D, scrapbooking, cards etc...)

Here is creation and what I found to use for this challenging challenge....*wink*.  Thanks Leanne for making me step out of my crafting box.  It is a great challenge!
The lace was saved from an old table cloth and recycled the buttons from an old card.  The oval sentiment was one I stamped but never used.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenge:
Make It Monday - Anything Goes

My fellow DT's have even more amazing creations to share with you.  They had fun with this challenge too.  We would love to see what you create and I would love to share your creation with you.  Hop on over to 4 Crafty Chicks let us know what this challenge inspires in you.

Critters over at 4 Crafty Chicks.

Good morning! We have had gorgeous weather all week and even though it is windy out it is helping to keep those pesky mosquito's away. Last week was an good week, my oldest got to go back to school on Wednesday from his eye injury (we were blessed with no permanent damage, he was happy to be back at school after 11 days of bed rest), our daughter no longer has to go to physio or to the specialist for her knees and she didn't break her finger, my stitches came out, not as expected but they are out and my hubby and my middle son are feeling better.  Yep, things are lookin up I must say.  What else can I update you with....I am on my 3rd week of boot camp and loving it, it is an on-line boot camp and the coaches are awesome.  Enough of my happy blabbing and onto what is really important...4 Crafty Chicks.

Our hostess with the mostess this week is non other than our chick Lori and does she have one fun challenge for us! It is a challenge we have never had before and well Lori you got me really thinking about what stamps to use.  Thank you!

CHALLENGE #143 - CRITTERS
 (any animal)

This card was made for my anniversary that was on Saturday!  The reason why I loved this challenge so much was it got me thinking back to the many animals that I have seen over the years with my husband.  The first time we were in Victoria, BC visiting my sister, Rob and I were lucky enough to have an evening to ourselves.  As we were sitting on a bench by the water, we saw our first raccoon, it was super interesting to watch.  It truly was a great memory.  So for my critter it had to be a raccoons and low and behold it was in my stamp set from Stampin Up .

All products from Stampin Up: paper: Early Epresso, Whisper White and So Saffron, punches, stamps, wine, embossing folder, paper piercer, daubers and ink.

I would love to enter my card into Make It Mondays Challenge - #141 - Anything Goes.

Be sure to join us at 4 Crafty Chicks, we would love to come hopping over to your blog and also we would love to see what this Critter challenge inspires in you. Hope you like it as much as I did.

Thank you so much for sharing in my life and my creations with me.  A huge smile is being sent your way!!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the wild fires and also the tornadoes that have been causing so much damage.
