Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #95

Good very early morning from Millet, Alberta. It is 1:15 am and a balmy -29 Celcius. We had another busy day shopping...my darling hubby is on a role...LOL, although we didn't buy anything today, it was good to look. We visited with Rob's brother and his wife today. Upon arriving home we put the food away and I thought that it was time to make a card. The problem it was 11 pm *wink*. I bit the bullet and wolla here is the Taylored Expressions Sketch I spotted. There were two super great parts to this card: 1. The sketch...thanks for another great one and 2. the Nestabilities my very good friend Lori gave me. This is my first time trying them out on my own and in my cuttlebug. I am a second time user and LOVE THEM!!!!! Thank you so much girlie!!!

So this is the sketch TESC #95

This was my take on the sketch:

Recipe:

Stamp: Treasure Life- Close to my Heart

Paper: Pale Plum, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Thoroughly Modern DSP (SU)

Ink: Basic Black (SU)

Accessories: Label Nine Nestabilities, Swiss Dots Folder (Cuttlebug), White Ribbon(SU), Scalloped Edge Punch (SU)dimensionals, buttons.

If I do not get on here tomorrow I just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. May the New Year ring in with tons of love and laughter. May it last the whole year through.

I should get these tired eye's of mine into bed, as I have a date with at my girlfriend house with her (Lori) and her family. We are ringing in New Years together. What a night it will be.

Til next time- smile and laugh.

Grateful!!!!

Yesterday I started working on this amazing sketch. I found it at The Pink Elephant Challenge. This week it was a sketch challenge right up my alley. Immediately I had some inspiration for this sketch. Now that I have my craft room mostly organized...I needed to get to work. Well you are probably thinking that why didn't I have this up yesterday....well my hubby came in while I was working and asked me if I wanted to go shopping. Ladies he isn't a shopper, so when he says "do you want to go shopping" I already have my purse and am running out the door, you know before he loses the urge to leave the house...LOL. It was a wonderful day and we found some really nice stuff for the house. We had a lot of work to do last night.

Today has been a day full of rearranging furniture. While we are taking a break I finished up my card.

So here is my take on this challenge:

I thought the view of this card showed the flowers color more.
Recipe:
Stamps: Treasure Life- Close to My Heart
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Marigold Morning, Tempting Turquiose, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White.
Ink: Chocolate Chip and Markers (SU)
Accessories: Spots & Dots, Swiss Dots Folders (Cuttlebug), chocolate chip ribbon, pearls, ticket punch (SU), edging punch (SU), dimensionals.

This card was inspired by all of the family and friends I am grateful to have in my life. Thanks also to everyone who keeps popping in. Wishing you a wonderful day.

Til next time - enjoy life.

A Cabinet Change :)))))))))

What an exciting Christmas we had. It was filled with tons of laughter, love, peace and what is better than relaxation. It was the first time that I haven't had 20-40 people in my house for three days. Enjoying who was here was fantastic!!!! Lots of games were played within the last 5 days.

Now onto the good stuff. My darling hubby Rob, went to alot of trouble this year. He went to IKEA and bought me a storage unit. Can you say gitty with excitement :). He put it together the same day I opened it (my DAD helped too). My job was to make sure I got everything out of my other cabinet. So in the process my mom and I rearranged my craft room/ toy room. I now have a spot for my embossing supplies (heat & dry), all of my punches, brads, pearls, eyelets...well all of my goodies. So thanks ROB, MOM, and DAD for all of your help in my craft room/toy room and in helping to make it a wonderful place to work.

This is the cabinet that I had all of my books, stamps, boxes on top of and all of my paper in.......are you ready for the next shot.....

Here it is....a mass of cube and wol la....organization......I LOVE IT A TON!!! Now to get rid of the toys. Which sounds like it might happen tonight or at least reorganized.
Wishing you all a great day and thanks for stopping in. Please check back. I do have a challenge card that I completed and will be putting it on here.

Til next time share a smile with someone, you just might make their day.

Christmas Tin

The last few days have been filled up and haven't allowed me time to craft....:(. Are you like that too? It has been so relaxing for me to do lately and I miss it already...LOL. Tomorrow, it is out to finish my christmas shopping! On Saturday, I had a wonderful time at my mom and friends windup for their stamping group. My cheeks hurt so much the next day it was hard to smile for our family pictures. It just shows that you laugh, live, craft and eat with friends. Loretta let me make their card front and it was wonderful creation, a calendar page for another lady and a candle with salts on the outside were our crafts for the day. What a super group of ladies. Sunday was our family picture day, and they turned out ok, not as good as last years though, but that is ok. Cleaning my house and laundry was on my agenda today, so no cards and I have to put my craft room back together...some how my stuff started moving up stairs...LOL.

Today, I was asked by Helen's daughter if I could make a tin for her boyfriends concert tickets. My bandage tins were pulled out of my cupboard and awaiting my rub-ons:) I used Real Red Ribbon and Season of Cheer Rub-on's. The snowflakes well I think I got a little happy with them (don't you just love snowflakes), maybe a little less would have been more. I hope that they like it. Ceri didn't want anything to fancy for her boyfriend. I really hope she likes it. These tins also hold gift cards. I make them for birthday presents.

I shoud get into bed, but I am wishing you a great day...may the cheerful force be with you if you are braving the crowds to finish shopping like me. Merry Christmas everyone, may you have a season of love, laughter and peace.

Til next time...thanks for stopping in.

Christmas Presents for Teacher's

Can you believe that tomorrow is the last day of school! Christmas holidays here we come!!! Two weeks of non stop fun and hopefully I will get quite a bit of crafting done :0. I always make my kids teacher's something for christmas. Tonight I made ornaments for them. I bought these cute ornaments at Micheals and I used two Stampin Up stamp sets and Stazon Ink. They are very easy to make and well under $3.00. A reasonable present for anyone on a budget, who wants to give someone just a little something without breaking the bank.

Although no cards tonight, I still managed to craft something. It has been fun sharing one of my other crafts with you tonight.

Wishing you all a great day tomorrow....
Thanks for stopping by and sharing in my crafting.

Reindeer Blinded by the Light!...LOL.

Hello fellow crafters!!!!

What can I say about today...we had a NO school day due to the cold weather -40 this morning. I babysat my little man today who was also feeling off, so it made for a good day of 4 kids bouncing off the walls. I did manage to do some blog surfing today. There are so many awesome ones out in blogger land. I just found out tonight that tomorrow is also a NO school day due to the cold weather. My kids need to run, but can't go outside right now...crafting in the next few days just might save my sanity...LOL.

Tonight I am doing two challenges in one. The first one is the Sweet Sunday sketch challenge. She has some really amazing sketches, so when you get a chance check it out. The second challenge I found was on my friend Melissa blog, it is through Moxie Fab World. In this challenge you had to make a christmas card with any kind of animal big or small. I made some scary deer's...LOL. It just might send you all running...hee hee.

On to more good times...tonight I was talking with my very good friend, Lori and she had some more christmas cards to make and I suggested this sketch...LOL. Next thing I knew she was throwing out a challenge to me. What was the challenge you say? To make the same card sketch, with the same stamp but we each did our own colors. I haven't seen Lori's yet (I can't wait to pop on over) so please stop by her blog to check out her wonderful creations.

This is my creation for the two challenges:

Yes, my deer's have glowing eye's I picked up the wrong color of marker (oops!!). I think they were blinded by the light and look kind of guilty...LOL. What do you think? This is a different looking group of Reindeer's. My jury is out right now (It looked a little different in my head. :0). It was an easy card and a blast to make. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you so much to The Sweetest thing for a wonderful sketch, I highly recommend it to everyone.

Good evening crafters!!! What can I say it is so cold outside...way to cold. It is currently a cool -43 with a wind chill that put is around -50. Our house is cool and we will be keeping the furnace up high tonight....brrrrrrr. Can't believe how cold it is outside, it even affected our t.v.. No better day than today to stay inside and craft. I had my christmas tunes playing, with hot chocolate, while I made this card. It was a fanastic inspiration. I found Jen's Sketch For You to Try, through my friend Lori. She made a most stunning card. Please pop into her blog and see her beautiful card. Thanks Jen for your stunning sketch it was a blast creating with it.

Happiness....

Good evening my fellow crafters!!!
This has been an amazing week so far. I was given the honor yesterday of being one of the Top #5 cards for Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo #26. Over the moon is what I was. My husband said to me "what is the matter with you, you are jumping around like you won the lottery...LOL" and I was doing my happy dance...LOL. Thank you so much for the honor. Another reason to be in a wonderful mood today was that my Verve stamps came in the mail today *WOOT, WOOT*. What a great day a great color challenge and some really cool stamps.

Now on to this weeks fabulous color challenge. I started it on Monday but discovered, that I don't own any Kraft paper....can you believe it. So I immediately got on the phone and called my mom and asked her if she had some. As all mom's usually do....She had a stash of it....LOL. My mom gave me some yesterday so I was off and running. Thank you so much mom for helping me complete this challenge. Love ya tons.

I wasn't sure if I could use white, as a result I went through several idea's before I settled on this one.

This is what I came up with:

I just realized that my middle layers don't show up well but each color is showing all the way around on my card. It must have been the angle of my camera. Sorry about that.

Recipe:
Stamps: Happiness Found (Verve)
Paper: Brocade Blue, Kraft, Bashful Blue (all SU)
Ink: Brocade Blue
Accessories: dimensionals, perfectly paisley folder (cuttlebug), corner rounder punch, pearls.

Wishing you all a wonderful night and a good day of crafting. Thanks again Scrapmaster's Paradise.

Til next time, share a smile with someone and remember Happiness is found. :) :)

Fabulous Friend

What a great day. I was able to spend some time surfing blogs today. I found some really fanastic challenges out there to do (color and sketches). I started another card tonight but had to put it aside, I just didn't have the one color I needed...don't you hate that...LOL :).

I went to Splitcoast this morning and saw that they have a Clean and Simple Challenge with the colors Red and Brown (with Vanilla or White). Anyway this card is a little out of my comfort zone tonight. I tried something new that popped into my head. This is a new cuttlebug folder called the Leafy Branch that I was waiting to try, so I broke it out tonight. My husband liked it so I am going ahead and putting it in the challenge. Please feel free to let me know if you like it or if I should change something on it to make it better. I am always looking for idea's to improve a project I have struggled with. Challenge was CAS44.

Recipe:
Stamps: Oval All
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Ink: Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Real Red Ribbon, Chocolate Chip Ribbon, medium oval punch, scallop punch, Leafy Branch folder (cuttlebug)

Cupcake Night!!!

Good very early morning everyone...my clock is reading just after midnight here. I hope you all had a great night. We are still hunkered down in the midst of a snow storm. It is a blustery night out there with all of the snow and wind blowing.

I wanted to make one more card to night and as I was talking to my friend Lori, she told me about this sketch challenge at Taylored Expressions, so I thought I would check it out. Today, I found designing my cards hard, although this one I had a sketch it was picking the stamps and deciding what paper to use. I stepped out of my box a little bit and picked some different colors. Let me know what you think. It is pretty plain, nothing fancy about this card. Thanks for putting this sketch challenge on it was a blast. My son and I had fun completeing this project together.

Richly Blessed

Good evening everyone. Today has been a wonderful day. It has finally started snowing here in my neck of the woods. It is starting to feel a lot like Christmas outside. This morning I thought I would check out the Mojo Monday Challenge and boy was I excited about what I saw. The circles I knew would be a real challenge for me. No spellbinders for this girl yet...but they are on my Wish List...LOL.

How did I make my circles? Well I took out three different sized cups and traced them. Although I don't have scallops, which I would have loved, I think this card turned out to be pretty effective.

The Mojo Monday Challenge design is below my card, next time I will try to switch them around. Thanks Mojo Monday for a fanastic opporunity.

Stamps: Thankful Blossoms (Verve)
Paper: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, Whisper White, Cottage Wall DSP

Christmas Card Creations

Good evening to all the crafters out there. Today was a good day. It was the last craft day at our church until January. It is just a really nice day where you can get together with no kids and do whatever craft your heart desires. It could even mean just drinking coffee and chatting. Although I had tons of idea's flying around my head, I just wasn't speedy...LOL. The Verve blog and the new release sure had my mind a twirling. Last night I did their blog hopping and it was a blast.

This card was my first one that I wanted to make. Boy oh Boy I just recieved this Cuttlebug folder in the mail and wanted to use it so badly. Today was the day. I also made another one of these, but on the stars I put Dazzling Diamond glitter.

Recipe:

Stamp: Four the Holidays
Paper: Night of Navy, Real Red and Very Vanilla

Ink: Night of Navy

Accessories: Cuttlebug folder (Joy & Cheer), ticket punch (SU), Blue snowflake brads.

Another treat that I received in the mail this week was this snowman. He is offically my favorite. I struggled with this card though, it just didn't seem right. The Designer paper is some of my favorite, but I struggled with how it looked on this card. It seems like there just might be to much of it. Please let me know what you think.

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Garden Green, Very Vanilla, Merry Moments DP (all SU).
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Old Olive Ribbon, Martha Stewart punch, oval pearls, Markers (SU), ticket punch.

My favorite card is right here. It didn't take me long with this one. I changed how much DP was on this card. I really like it, well who wouldn't with this cutie!!!! :). I made some other changes too. I hope you like this one as much as I do.

Stamps: Flaky Friends (SU), Country Snowman (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Crazy for Crafting!!!!

Last night my good friend Lori and I were crafting. Most of the designs for the cards were cased from Dawn Easton. We loved her layouts and did change up a few of her layouts with different colors, punches, and some other little ideas. Please check out my friends blog at Inkingly Yours. It was nice to take a little break from christmas cards...but only for a bit "wink, wink" :). I just loved the colors and designs of these two cards. We made two of each and the second ones had a different saying or pearls.

Home for Christmas

Good night everyone. Well it is almost morning here...LOL.
I had fun coloring this card. My problem was picking the paper...I cut more than I should have. Lesson pick my colors first...LOL. Oh and I free styled the snow and I think I will stick with the Swiss Dot's, I always over do it :) :)
Let me know what you think of the color combo with the stamp. This is my first time using this stamp. I got it last year. It is very cute and different layouts would look very neat.
I used Home for Christmas stamp, Paper: very vanilla, real red, chocolate chip and designer paper. Markers, and dazzling diamond glitter. Very Vanilla Ribbon
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a good sleep, I am now head off to bed.
Til next time keep smiling.

Season's Greetings

Good afternoon Everyone!!!
It is a very beautiful day here a little windy, but the sun is awesome. Wishing you all some laughter today.

So this was the card I was working on last night. I felt it was lacking something so I was trying to improve it a bit...LOL. It turned out so much different than what I had in my head...:) :)

This is my second attempt at sprucing up this card. This time instead of the navy pearls, I used gold brads and I braided the gold elastic, because I just was not sure what to do. It just seemed like it was missing something near the bottom. I think it looks ok. I love this stamp it is beautiful.
What you need:
Stamps : Scenic Season
Paper: Night of Navy, Brushed Gold and Very Vanilla
Ink: Versamark
Other: gold brads, gold embossing powder, and gold elastic and a punch.
I am working on another card that I hope to post this evening, it might be late, but I hope not.
Thanks for stopping by.
Til next time, share a smile with someone, you just might make their day.
