Marriage Mean's... and PPC #28

Good Morning peeps! Well it is a rainy morning here in small town Alberta. It is nice but it sure can force you to get things done in your house. When you get a chance to go outside you don't always feel guilty about what is not getting done on the inside.

While I was talking with my good friend Lori, this morning I realized that I missed putting my post up. Sorry about that. This morning has seen laundry being done, the fridge cleaned out, dishes done from the dreaded fridge and a friend coming over very early for my son Robin. Today, will continue to be a busy day but a I am taking a manditory break for crafting and just relaxing alittle bit before I go back to getting school stuff done.

Onto the good stuff....our new challenge at PPC this week has totally fabby colors of done by Megan. I just love them. I had so much fun with the sketch it is from the archives from Card Patterns. It was sooooooo perfect to go with the colors of PPC this week.

Here is my card! The image I used is one of my friend Lori's. This couple just makes you smile...I think you can picture them as a couple you might know. I love the sayings too. I had fun with the three different textured folders. I will be back later today with the inside sentiment...it is a whoot. :)How adorable do you think they are?
Thanks so much for poppin' in and please don't forget to stop bye and check out the other DT's, their cards are amazing this week. Take some time and share some love, we love it too! You can find there links on the right hand side of my blog.

Please join us this week at PPC, we love to see what you create and I just love commenting on your work. I look forward to seeing you!!!

As said before you are all very talented. I want to give a huge shout out to all of the girls at Sweet Stampin for making me feel to welcome as a Guest Desinger and for the wonderful opportunity. I have totally love every mintue of it.

http://heather-ellis.co.uk/index.htm

So this is the last challenge for the month of August can you believe it? What is it you say? DISTRESSING ON YOUR CARD, AND IT HAS TO BE A BIRTHDAY CARD! Where did our time go...? Time just flew by as GDT and let me tell you it was a blast. This challenge was perfect for me because my DH turned 40 this week and boy did I need a good birthday card and a great techinque. Now my DH is not one who likes a bunch of stuff, he is a very plain person, way less is more for him but not always me (LOL, it can be hard). The stamp I chose is one of my friend Lori's and it was made by Totally Stampalicious. Their stamps are so unique and awesome. They sure make you laugh. What was my distressing? It was tearing, inking, using a sanding block on the chocolate chip paper and on the pattern paper (on the inside and out).

Don't you just love him? Does he make you smile?

Thanks so much for coming to see me for the last month. I have enjoyed everyones comments and the visits. The best part is becoming a follower of several peoples blogs. Please keep coming to visit me and I will continue to pop over to your blogs as well. Wishing you the best weekend, hope it holds tons of smiles for you.

Clean and Simple "Thanks"

Can you believe we are onto Our 27th challenge over at Picture Perfect Creations. It sure is a wonderful feeling and I am sooooooooooo loving everyones entries each week. Your work is amazing. We are still looking for Guest Designer for Sept, Oct, and Nov. so please apply for more info click here.

How was your weekend. Mine is busy but great. Friday, my fellow crafting peep came for a visiting bring home my son from his first week of camp ever (which he loved). Her whole family came which was a huge treat and they helped us take all of our wood from our deck to the burn pit and then helped us get everything else we had been gutting out from our house to the dump. I can park in my garage now after a couple of months. The funny part yesterday, I got used to going outside to get my van, that when I did I wondered where the heck it was...LOL.

Enough of my babbling and onto the good stuff our new challenge. Megan has used several of the new colors that I didn't have so once again my awesome Stampin Up Rep Lori, shared some of her stash with me. We sat down and created together which was very, very cool.
Here is my creation. It is very clean and simple, but I like it. I must say I just love, love, the new Concord Crush color. It is so rich and vibrant.

Also just to let you know there is a voting contest over at PaperWorks Co. Blog where they had a team challenge and everyone in blogger land can now vote for there favorite cards. Please come out and support Leanne, Lori, Melissa and myself. We are called the 4 Crafty Chicks and could really use your votes. The challenges rocked and it is a great way to meet people.

Please don't forget to hope on over to the other gals to see there awesome card creations this week. There links are on my right hand side of the blog.

Pearl Crazy!!

Good Saturday Morning!!! Sweet Stampin' has an awesome new challenge this week. The sketch totally rocks. I am still trying to look at everyones awesome cards, but I have had some computer problems this week as well as feeling under the weather. There are so many wild fires in B.C., Canada. The smoke has filled Alberta and it is very smothering, so it has made my allergies run wild.

It is hard to believe that we are almost done August. My kids will be returning to school on Sept. 2/10.

Our sponsor this month is Heather Ellis...be sure to stop bye her store to see her very cute designs.

http://heather-ellis.co.uk/index.htm

Onto Challenge #40 which is an awe inspiring sketch. The idea came to me immediately, I knew which stamps I wanted to use so next was to pick the colors.

Here is my birthday card with Challenge #40. I love butterflies and thought that three of them would be perfect. By the time I finished my card it still needed a little something, so it had to be pearls. I then went pearl crazy!! Don't you love them?

Sorry this is cut short but my headache is returning and I should get into bed. I will come back and up date you with my recipe for this card. I think this is one of my fav's for the last couple of challenges.

Thanks for stopping bye.

Wishing you a wonderful day and oh don't forget to show the other Stampin' DT some love, there work is just awesome.

Ultimate Summer Challenge #3 at PaperWorks Co. Blog

What an awesome Ultimate Summer Challenge PaperWorks Co. Blog has put on for the last 5 days. Jenny created a team challenge which just rocks. So Lori, Leanne, Melissa and myself entered. All of the other teams have made some wonderful cards too. My team mates have worked hard and rocked each of their challenges.

For the inspirational challenge (which is #3) you had to pick an animal and your card had to be inspired simply more than your just your stamp. I searched high and low to find some more inspiration to the fantastic digi that was given to us by (Chi Chi Memories) and I found some bone pattern paper that I distressed. I hope this cutie and the feel of the card makes you want to get better.

There will be voting on the cards that everyone likes, so if you like our cards please vote for us!! This has been a fantastic experience. Thanks girls for asking me to be part of the team.

Clean and Simple for PPC #26

Good Monday Morning! I thought today was supposed to be really hot and sunny, but I woke up to rain and my DH informed me that it was to rain off and on all day *sigh*. We will probably go to our friends for a little while this afternoon so our daughters and sons can play. For now I think I will check out some challenges this morning...my house is oddly quiet *wink* but not before I get onto the super dooper challenge this week from PPC. Then tonight I must get my laundry finished, there needs to be more time in a day (well only sometimes *wink*). What are you up to today?

How was your weekend? Yesterday, we worked on our deck and got the cement pilings made, yahooo! The best part of my day was that my cousin Scott popped into see me and stayed over night. We had a great time!!!

Picture Perfect Creations has some fun bright colors for us this week. Don't you just love bright colors? They make me smile. My card this week just fell into place, don't you just love it when that happenes.
The sentiment on this card is a Verve plain Jane. It is one of my fav's. I couldn't resist using another flower from Memories Such As These. The lady who makes them sure has some talent and it worked out that the color in them matches Pacific Point.

Recipe: Stamp: Verve; Paper: Pacific Point, Poppy Parade, Whisper White and Basic Black; Ink: Basic Black; Accessories: Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Flower, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder, Paper piercer.

I have to send out a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my mom. She is an amazing person who derserves every happiness and good wishes. May she have tons of laughter today. Love you tons mom and thanks for giving me the crafting bug...it is my favorite thing to do with you, well besides just being with you.

Please have a wonderful day where you are and here is smile being sent your way!

P.S. The girls over at PPC have some super fab cards to show you so hop on over to their blogs and share some love. They do amazing work (all links are on my right hand side).

Kick Off Your Shoes and Dance at Sweet Stampin'

Good Afternoon. Today is the perfect day to stop bye the wonderful Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog! The challenge is awesome and let's you go just wild with your creativity. Last week I had so much fun seeing all of the amazing works of art out there, you were so awesome with your creations. Week #2 of GDT for Sweet Stampin' will be amazing I just know it.

Challenge #39 - Favorite Image/Stamp.
I love this challenge and let me tell you it was a challenge. It was so hard to go through my stash and decided on one that was my favorite. As I found out their are many, oh soooooooo many. I just might have to do a few more to show you some of my other fav's. My Image is from Verve Stamps - Beautiful You.

Our amazing sponsor for the month of August is

Heather Ellis, Pure Innocence

My card last week had black in it as well, but it just seemed to go really well with the flower set. I don't know why I chose to do the flowers in orange as it is really bright, but I was looking for something cheerful it is has been raining here for the better part of two days now, so something bright is in order. Red flowers would have been awesome as well, really any color would have.
The sentiment is sometimes one that I need a reminder of. The D'vine Swirl Cuttlebug folder just seem to add some elegance to the card. I know it is rather plain, but when I added more it looked just over done. My daughter Kailtyn told me that I should follow my own advice "Mom sometimes less is more"....fancy that coming back at me *giggle*.

Thanks for making week #1 of my Guest Designer spot so much fun. You are all so awesome.

Wishing you all a day filled with laughter and I hope you will all get a chance to kick off your shoes and dance.

Just For You :)

Another fun card with some fantastic challenges. I just love, love these colors that the Stampin Royalty girls picked this week. This card came together really quickly for me which was even better because it was around 2:30 am when I was making it *giggle*, thanks Lori for the wee morning crafting. The sketch from Just Us Girls rocked and made it a piece of cake (sadly I just realize I missed the entry deadline *sigh*).

Gotta love flowers...these ones are so cute.
Everything is Stampin' Up. I am not sure of the Stamp name as it was my good friend Lori's Set and silly me forgot to write it down.
Here two more cards that my daughter made with us. She tried to use some old sketch challenges and I think she did an awesome job. Great job Kaitlyn we are very proud of you.

Today is very rainy here, so I am off to start the laundry and then scope out some more challenges. I would love to be able to make a card today. August is a month loaded with birthdays and anniversaries. Oh and I have to get some cards ready to take into the store and sell, with Summer it wasn't as easy as I thought to get a bunch in there.

Here to crafting with you and remember to laugh you deserve it.

Stylish Happy Birthday!

I can't say how excited I was to be able to fit in the time to make a card for Mojo Monday. It is has been way to long since a card was created for this challenge (which I adore). My awesome crafting buddy Lori came over to craft and my daughter got into the action too...in no time the Crafting Extravaganza was under way. We crafted well into the next morning. We were getting ahead on some of our challenges since we are DT's together on the same challenge blog. Fun was to be had too and we created some cards to play in other challenges. THANKS Lori for all the crafting mojo you brought to my home....it was the best time (Hugs).
Isn't she just adorable. I had everything put together and was looking for an image and well Lori brought some of her new ones and well....this cutie caught my eye and said "I belong on that card" * giggle*. What a blast she was to color.
This card also works for two more challenges:

Creative Card Crew - get cute and girlie

Our Creative Corner - Embossing (it might be hard to see, but I used Swiss dots on the bottom (light pink area).

Recipe: Stamp: ??, Paper (SU), Markers (SU), 2 copic (Markers), Pomogrante Ribbon (SU)Martha Stewart punch and pearls.

My awesome crafty daughter Kaitlyn made these cards. She was so happy to be crafting with her Auntie Lori and me. Kaitlyn told us both we need to have these crafting times more often...LOL. She is addicted just like us. Also she did a great job with taking the pictures herself. Thanks for crafting with us Kaitlyn.

Thanks for stopping in. Hope you enjoy the cards and wishing you all a very blessed day.

Day 2 and Two cards!

Hi everyone. Can you believe it...I made the two cards I wanted to today. You will have to wait to see the second one as it is for one of my DT challenge sites. I can't wait for you to see it. Now it is time for me to clean up my craft room, cause Lori is come to see me tomorrow and to craft yahooooooo!

Thanks for stopping bye to see my creations. Your comments are appreciated. Keep smiling you deserve it.

70th Birthday Card!

Yes, you can believe your eye's. I am actually posting two days in a row...LOL. IT is a crafting record for me lately. I challenged my friend Lori to make two cards today; we both finished one...yahooooo! Now I could not find a birthday card challenge so sadly this card is not entered into anything.

Helen asked me to make another card for her last night so I have now finished her birthday card list. It has been a blast and I hope she likes this one. Another surprise, no embossing and I have used pattern paper on two cards in row *giggle*.
Everything on my card is SU, only one exception and that is the #70 that is from the computer. The Stamp set is Happy everything; Paper is So Saffron, Old Olive, Rose Red, Basic Black, whisper white, and DSP. I used the scallop border punch and the 3/4" and 1" circle punch and picture corner punch.

I should run, I have another card to make for one of my DT challenges, but secretly I am hoping to make a 3rd card tonight *giggle*. Wishing you all a wonderful day and a smile with some sunshine.

Thanks for stopping in and sharing my work with me.

80th Birthday Card!!

Can you hear me tap dancing around my basement. I have made my second card for today! Now some mechanical errors happened with my folding and I didn't realize it until it was too late *sigh*.

The style of this card is so simple and just beautiful. My first attempt at this card was at my monthly card club. We used some really pretty razzleberry paper. Helen asked me to make her Aunt a birthday card. The very cool part is that they will be going over to Welsh. Sometimes I still struggle with not quite having the card perfect, but in my heart my bad folding will make it unique. On the plus side it still looks not to bad. *Giggle*. Tonight I found out that she would like me to make another birthday card for her this one is a 70th.

I am so enjoying being in my craft room. Tomorrow will be another busy day, another two cards to be made and get some into envelopes so I can get them to the store. Have a happy day!

Don't forget to join us at Picture Perfect Creations Challenge Blog, there is Blog Candy this week and a challenge. Also pop on over to Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog where for the month of August I am Guest DT.

Clean and Simple Anniversary Card!

Howdy crafters! I am so happy to tell you I am posting the first card I made today! It felt so good to be in my craftroom tonight. It was to be earlier in the day, but well alas it was not to be.

How was your weather tonight? We had some wicked clouds come threw and tons of lightning. I just went up stairs and oh it smells so fresh outside and it is raining good.

Yesterday I was talking to my crafting pal Lori and she was telling me about this clean and simple sketch. It sounded really neat and thought I would give it a whirl. My friend Helen has been asking to make all kinds of cards for her lately which has been super great. This particular card is made for a 60th Anniversary! I did struggle with the colors, but finally settled on silver, black, white and burgandy.

The sketch I used is from Clean and Simple Stamping, they make it look so easy.
Here is my creation:
Lining the words and numbers up was a tuff one for me, but I finally did okay. The big flowers are made by a girl in Wetaskiwin, AB and she sells them at Memories Such As These, where I also sell my cards. Don't you just *heart* them, they have been begging to be used (tonight was finally the night). The stamps are from Verve, the number stamps (??), SU paper and ribbon and small flower punch.

Clean and Simple Stamping can be really hard for me, but I just adore this sketch so thanks so much for the inspiration girls.

Thanks so much for stopping bye. I have my second card done and will be posting it shortly. Have an awesome night.

Helloooooooo, to all of my fellow bloggers. It sure is great to be back from holidays. They were filled with many laughs, scary moments, and at times some frustrations. We went camping it was a very beautiful place called Writing on Stone, Alberta, our scary moment was seeing a rattle snake, but it had it head hidden and didn't see us or use his rattle...LOL). I got to visit with some aunts and cousins too. We are in the process now of trying to replace our deck and garden doors, totally unexpected (frustration part *wink*).

Today, is going to be a busy day, but I am putting my foot down and making sometime to craft some more. It was great to be in my room last night (oh how I have missed it). Mmmmm...my goal for this Monday is to get three cards made (here is hoping but at least 2 will be done for sure).

Did everyone have a great long weekend? I hope so. Have we got a great summer color combo for you! Yep you heard it hear, these colors rock. They are bright and they make you smile so come and join us at Picture Perfect Creations to show us your rockin creations!
The sketch that I used this week comes from Our Creative Corner! Every Thursday they have some really cool sketches. I was preparing this card a head of time so I went back and picked one that I liked. Thanks ladies.
Oh, I am so excited for you to see this card. I hope you like the flower as much as I do and the sentiment is just awesome. They are both from the Verve set Love's Flower. The coloring was super fun and using the Martha punch just enhanced the look of the card (thanks Lori for letting me use the punch and stamps).
Summer seems to be flying by can you believe that we are already in August! It won't be long before everyone has to go back to school. I would like it if things would just slow down a bit. Does that ever happen?

Please hop on over to share some love with the other DT girls. Their master peices this week are just awesome (links are on the right hand side of my blog).

Here is smiling at you crafters and thanks for stopping by and sharing some love.
