Feel Better Soon!

Good evening everyone! With today being Rememberance Day here in Canada, we had the day off. This morning my oldest son Tristan played in the Rememberance Day ceremony and Robin, Kaitlyn, Rob and I went too support our troops and remember. I then took my middle son to a friends and well spent just a tad bit too much time on the phone this afternoon...LOL.

Rob shared some really shocking news with me last night! One of his employee's at work her husband had surgery yesterday (we had been visiting with them on Sunday at the Christmas party)! They had found out he has cancer and surgery was done to remove it! We have been praying that they were able to get it all. Rob asked me to make a card for them today and to let them know we care. Now this gentleman he is just awesome and really loves motorcycles....I knew the perfect stamp but wouldn't you know it I don't own it...*gasp*...LOL. So the next best thing I figured was a truck from Little Paper Shop.

After the stamp was picked, I went ahead to find a color combo....the one I went with was The Color Dare - Night of Navy, Soft Suede and Pear Pizzazz. My thought this was a good man card color combo. Thanks for the help ladies. More inspiration the better right? Well I hopped over for that inspiration to Tuesday Morning Sketches and Melissa Craig sure did not disappoint! Isn't this a fantastic sketch...thanks Melissa. Could I make this a 3 in 1 challenge you bet with the good help of the awesome ladies over at Cute Card Thursday their challenge is Anything Goes! Sentiment is by Verve and the truck is Little Paper Shop! Linen thread, navy ribbon, scallop border punch, corner punch, night of navy, whisper white, soft suede, pear pizzazz are all stampin up! Cuttlebug folder Name?? Spellbinders small and large ovals (scalloped too).

Well I should get going and change some laundry over. My kids have tomorrow off, we are busy for the first part of the morning and then I am hoping to hit my craft room to make some more cards. I really need to get working on those christmas cards...LOL. So many idea's and stamps...so little time...LOL. Wishing you all a super Thursday night!

4 Crafty Chicks brings you Challenge #11

Good Thursday morning to you all out in blogger land. Today, in Canada it is a very special day, it is Remembrance Day! It is a Day to remember our soliders. I am truly proud to have them protecting us and others...my respects go out to all of their families today for those lost, for those who are still fighting (their courage) and for their families, who have to live without them. We are truly blessed! Thank you for all you do for us!!

Onto our new challenge this week at 4 Crafty Chicks. The hostess-with-the-mostess is Melissa and she is bringing us CHALLENGE #11 *****SYMPATHY CARD******. These are the hardest cards, I find to make! My fellow DT's have made it look so easy...their cards are stunning (Melissa: My Paper Obession, Leanne: Banking on Crafts and Lori: Inkingly Yours).

Here is my creation for Challenge #11:

Verve, Stampin UP and Little Paper Shop....all have some amazing sympathy stamps and sentiments. The little cross I used this week and the sentiment is from Verve. The cross is elegant and is very versitile. My embossing folders are both cuttlebug and all of my paper are from Stampin UP! as well as the punch, ribbon, dazzling diamonds and the black buttons. The centre of the buttons is tied with cross stitch floss.

This week while I was commenting on some very fabby cards for 4 Crafty Chicks and Picture Perfect Creations I found a new challenge blog. Mary Jo Techno Stamper: Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge is just amazing. Her sketches are so inspiring and I just couldn't wait to do one. Thanks Mary Jo for helping make the process of making my sympathy card a little easier. The only change I made to the sketch was the tilting of the image panel...it just done opposite hope that is okay Mary Jo.

Crafty Creations Challenges new challenge #93 is to use BUTTONS, well that just totally worked for Mary Jo's sketch and my card...LOL!

Crafty CardMakers Challenge for the next two weeks is to Spotlight Dry Embossing! Well these girls are after my own heart...Love, love, love embossing. I used Scripted Texture and Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folders.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC 92) is to use glitter! I used my dazzling diamonds glitter in the middle of my cross, it isn't ton's but I do think it gives the effect on the card that I wanted. (I started using glitter a couple of weeks ago again and well I just can't stop again...LOL). Super Great Challenge. Another project needs to be done to use more glitter...LOL.

I want to thank Melissa for our challenge this week, it sometimes can be a tough one but they are the kind of cards you just never know when you will need them.

Where ever you are today take a mintue or too of silence for all of the soliders around the world, they are amazing people with amazing courage...we owe them so much. I look forward to seeing all of your creations again this week.

Good Monday morning to you! You know what Monday means...another awesome color combo challenge from Picture Perfect Creations. Now these colors are so much fun! You can make anything from christmas, birthday, thinking of you so come join our challenge! The card I made this week is for my neice Jennifer. Her birthday is in a one and a half weeks. Auntie needed to get a special card done for her and sent to her in time. Thanks Megan for some great inspirational colors.

Here is my creation! I really love this image and would love to work at coloring it some more. A few of my colors are too dark, but over all I hope it is a card she will like.

Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog, have this really cute inspiration picture...go where ever your imagination takes you. Thanks ladies for a great challenge, it helped me come up with a birthday theme for my card!!!

The image on this card reminds me of one of the mice from Cinderella, the one that likes to eat! He just makes me smile like crazy...so this card will be entered into Crafty Creations Challenges. (FABLES AND FAIRY TALES) Thanks so much for a wonderful challenge!

I had a really busy weekend, but it was a good one! Today, is going to be busy, eye doctor appointments for all three kids and then parent teacher interviews with all three kids, I still hope I have some time to craft today...do you think I am dreaming? Christmas meets - Color Challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks

Hi there! How are you this week? I can't believe our good fortune we have had the most amazing weather, it just makes you smile. Our other good fortune this week is we had so many enteries and each and every creation was just FANTABULOUS! I learned quite things techinques this week. Thanks to everyone who is supporting 4 Crafty Chicks, it is so wonderful!

I still can't believe we are already in November...doesn't Christmas seem to be coming faster every year? That being said...we are onto our new challenge this week at 4 Crafty Chicks! Our hostess-with-the-mostess is LEANNE and boy does she have a great challenge this week! Leanne has picked some really awesome colors for us to work with and they are just perfect for our 10th challenge(4CCC-10). Ten weeks sure have flown bye but again we have amazing supporters and you have all made it just a blast. The colors this week are Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, River Rock, Pink Pirouette and a Neutral. Thanks Leanne for your hard work and making this challenge a blast.

Here is my creation with Leanne's colors. Now I didn't use Pink Pirouette paper but I used it for this sweet little girls jacket! This is another stamp that I have been just waiting to get inky and when Leanne told us the colors....well you know I got her inky...LOL. Thanks Lori for an awesome stamp! This week again you see glitter...well I must admit...maybe I am just a tad addicted. Also I am just loving this snowflake embossing folder. The sentiment is a Rub-On (SU)!!!
The sketch that caught my eye this week is from Mojo Monday! I would like to try it again with some other stamp sets. I think they would work really good too! Thanks Julee for an amazing sketch again this week!

Challenges From The Attic #6

Hey all! How is your day going? Mine is going good but I must have had a tad too much junk from my kids goody bags last night. Today, I seem to be dragging a little bit but hopefully a hot chocolate will pick me up....LOL. On Thursday, Challenges From The Attic put up their new challenge for the week. Paula is on Challenge #6 already and this week was BLACK AND WHITE No other color...easy peazy right???? It wasn't too bad for me and well I threw the challenge out to my friend LORI to create a black and white card too...LOL. What are friends for eh! So my card quickly became a Sympathy card, because I was struggling to invision something else...but I know there are so many creations to be made with these two colors.

Take Time to Chase the Snowflakes and PPC #37

Happy November 1st! Where did October go? Well last night was Halloween and boy did my kids have an awesome time trick or treating with their friends. It worked out wonderful for me because Lori came to visit with me while our kids went out on the town. My other surprise yesterday was my long time friend Chrissy and her sister Wendy(her son) stopped by to visit me. Yes, yesterday was a fantabulous day!

Today is Monday and your know what that means...Megan has another great Color Combo for us at Picture Perfect Creations. We are on Challenge #37 and I love all of these colors but the Cajun Craze threw me a little. Thanks Megan for the super great challenge and for making me step out side of my crafting box...a true challenge.
I went over to see what Card Patterns new sketch was and it was just perfect for these colors. The DT's have awesome creations again...thanks for such a great sketch.

I just love this snowman and sayings! Thanks Lori for letting me get it inky it is stinkin cute and the sayings just rock! Now the Cajun Craze threw me a little so I used it on the snowmans nose and buttons. Not alot of it but enough to make the snowman pop!

This color challenge is awesome...so I hope you will all hop on over to PPC to play with us and to see the DT's creation.

4 Crafty Chicks with Challenge #9 and Prize Week!

Good Morning from chilly Millet, Alberta....we have had a little bit of snow...so I guess Winter is truly here...LOL. I love snowmen and this weather just has me dreaming of them. Thursday and you know what that means....you got it another challenge brought to you by 4 Crafty Chicks. First and foremost thanks so much to everyone who tried my sketch last week! It was sure a lot of fun!

I am soooooooo excited that we are on challenge #9 and the hostess-with-the-mostess is LORI!!! What is the challenge? Here it is: CHALLENGE #9 (4CCC-#9) is to USE PUNCHES/DIES on your creation! Love, love, love this challenge Lori...thanks so much for the fun! Now this week is an extra special week as it is a prize week, so please come join us and show us your inspirations!!

On my card the dies I used were Spellbinders (circle & scalloped circle), Stampin Up scallop border punch and their tiny circle punch (markers were copics and SU)! Oh and the dazzling diamonds and rub-ons are some of my fav's. I have been wanting to use this image that Lori gave me for my birthday for way to long.... Do you think it is cute?
I new which paper to use right away, but after doing 2 1/2 hours of math with Kaitlyn, my brain could not focus on a design. Card Patterns is one of my favorite sketch challenge blogs. I did change this one up just a little bit...hope that is okay. My image is centred and not on the bottom side and instead of a tag...well a scalloped border was calling me and I also turned my card. thanks for the awesome sketch ladies and all the DT's have beautiful work.

Pumpkin Ball Fun!!

Good morning everyone! I wanted to share with you two of the amazing pumpkins we got at the Pumpkin Ball this year! Each year with our family and for Rob's work we go to this most amazing fundraiser that helps in aiding adults and children with developmental disabilities. WDACS runs A day program and has several group homes. This fundraiser has been going on for 37 years and is still going strong! Each of these individuals make you smile and it is just so much fun because it is a family event. This year they had 50 pumpkin's for the live auction and 30 pumpkin's for silient auction (these are made by schools and other individuals). Each year we go I am surprised at what kind of pumpkins they come up with and their is never two the the same. I wish you could see the ones from the live auctions some of them are painted (cat upside down in a fish bowl (is painted just like a fish bowl) with a stuffed cat upside down coming out of the top), John Deer Tractors, Phantom of the Opera, oh they are just so fabulous!

This year we came home with 4 pumpkins from the silient auction! Hope you like the work that went into these two as much as I do!! Wish I had a painted picture to share with you!

This one has so many details but I couldn't get a real clear picture of it! A few of the hearts came off in the middle. but just another amazing pumpkin.

Thanks for Making Me Smile!!

What a weekend! We had so much fun on Saturday night. Our family went to the Annual Pumpkin Ball and let me tell you the crafting genius of everyone who works on these pumpkin's is fantastic. I will have the Avatar pumpkin on here a little later please be sure to check it out! Yesterday, I laughed so hard with the girls that my belly and check muscles hurt! It was great to see you all and laugh with you at our Stampin Club this month!

Now onto the new color challenge for this week! Megan has did it again with this new color combo! come join us at Picture Perfect Creations for Challenge #36You can do so much with them, now I don't have anything halloweenish but if I did these colors would have been awesome for it. Can you believe that Halloween is next Sunday? What the heck happened to October...LOL.

I wanted a sketch design so on over to Cute Card Thursday...and boy oh boy did they have a cute and simple sketch. The DT's work is also just amazing.

Ooooooooooo guess who I used for this challenge....can you guess? Well I broke in another Riley. This one is so cute. My friend Lori, Leanne and my mom all crochet, my mom also knits and I thought these colors would be a hoot to work with! We have spent much time working with yarn together and with the memories it just makes me smile. I could just see my mom knitting up a storm...LOL. She is my Riley * wink, wink*. My squares should have been bigger but I needed to finish this card right away so they are all done with punches. Hope you like her too!

Let's Get Sketchy with 4 Crafty Chicks!!

Is it Thursday morning already....you bet! You know what that means a brand new challenge from us girls at 4 Crafty Chicks. This week is my turn to host and Challenge #8 is a SKETCH!! I had fun playing with My Digital Studio and do I ever have a ton to learn (it was however a lot of fun), another crafty item to get addicted too...LOL. Leanne with her crafty genius helped me when I was struggling so thank you my friend.

Here is what I came up with for the sketch. Don't you just love Riley???? he is just so darn cute and fun to make cards with. This is the first time for getting this one inky and I think he will be seeing more ink in the next few weeks...LOL

Recipe: Stamp: Riley; Paper: Early Espressio, Garden Green, Real Red, Baja Breeze, Whisper White and Candy Cane Christmas DSP (???). Accessories: Snowflake Cuttlebug Folder, Dazzling Diamonds, Martha Stewart Snowflake punch, scallop punch, 1 1/4 square punch, copic marker, SU markers and real red pearls.

I had looked at some other color challenges but the one that caught my eye today was Crafty Creations Challenges. It is sure nice to touch base with some challenges that I used to play quite a bit. Challenge #90 this week is a color one: BROWN, GREEN AND RED. My card can also be entered into Inky Impressions Challenge - Anything Goes. I have never seen their stamps before but they are very cute. Craftalicious Challenges is also an Anything goes challenge. It is nice to be playing with them again too!

PPC #35 and Challenges From The Attic

Good Evening! I am so excited to be able to make a card just for fun to enter into a challenge. I have done the colors for Picture Perfect Creations Color Combo and I used the right Rose color! THANKS MEGAN!! for the awesome color combo!

My friend and fellow DT member has started a new challenge blog and it is called Challenges From The Attic! Sorry Paula it has taken me so long to get something entered into your very cool challenge blog!

I am getting this in just under the wire and her challenge for us this week is make something with Friendship on it!

Here is my creation, it is a very clean and simple card, with one of my favorite cuddlebug folders! D'vine Swirl. I did use Tempting Turquoise, but it doesn't quite look the color in my picture.

It's A Girl!

Well we have another terrific color combo for you this week! I can't believe we are already on Color Combo #35 for Picture Perfect Creations. Time just flies bye when you are having fun.

So I had so much fun with these colors that my mojo has three types of cards going on at one time. I couldn't settle on one and have three cards on the go...LOL, so I went for round number 4...LOL. A baby card was in order. I haven't made one in a while soooooooo here we are...
The sketch that I was oogling over is from The Sweetest Thing Sweet Sunday Sketch #89! There are so many idea's I have for this layout. Maybe I will be able to make another one with this sketch. Thanks for such an awesome sketch to work with Karen.

Well darn it I just realize that I used the wrong color of rose for this card. I guess I will be back sometime today with another one...geezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Well my weekend was really busy for us. Tristan my oldest played in his first Volleyball tournament in Edmonton. They were underdogs going in but placed 1st in their pool Friday night and lost the bronze medal Saturday by two points. We were so proud of his team and their hard work. My middle son went to a birthday party Friday and then spent Saturday hanging out with his friend, quadding, motor biking etc. My daughter spent the evening with her Grandma on Friday and they crocheted together and made a Haunted House...which didn't even make it to Halloween...LOL. Then Saturday we took her to Gymnastic's and headed back to Edmonton to watch Tristan play. Sunday was full of doing laundry, baking and watching Robin of the Hood with our kids.

It's All About Inspiration at 4 Crafty Chicks

Good Morning! Wow you all did some superb distressing last week and I even learned some new distressing techniques thanks to all of you niffty crafters :).

Well while trying to work on my card for this week, it became a week of realization that I MISS MY CRAFT ROOM! :(. We have been working on my sons room so right now he is sleeping in my craft room. When is your favorite time to craft? Mine is early in the morning or later a night apparently and both times he is sleeping in there *sigh*. How did I not know this before? Enough of my whining and onto.......

Yep, I totally mean our Challenge this week at 4 Crafty Chicks 4CCC-#7 which is brought to by our chick Melissa. What is the Challenge you say! Well to find inspiration from this picture! Now I found this very challenging just because I thought of a pumpkins and sea shells, but don't own any to stamp...LOL. Thanks Melissa for supplying us with an amazing challenge this week.

Fun, Fun, Fun Colors For Challenge #34 at PPC!!

Good Morning everyone! Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving here in Canada! It was a beautiful day, a little cloudy but warm. I am so thankful for my husband, kids, family and friends. Life gives you so many things to be thankful for and you all are one of them.

So after coming home from being thankful and oh having just a tad bit to much to eat yesterday, I needed to get to work with these wonderful colors, it was fun but boy was I tired (turkey does that too me). Of course my brain went right back to spring and butterflies. Maybe with the beautiful weather we have been having, I am struggling to accept that Fall is really here...LOL. Megan this combo is awesome!!
