Apple Emma

Hi Everyone. Today I am trying two new challenges from two very cool blogs. Charisma Cardz Challenges (challenge #3) wants you to use Fruity Colors with the added option of a fruity image . Apple Emma was just perfect for this challenge. KL Stampin N Scrappin Blog (challenge #14) was challenging you to use nesties, punches or dies. I had fun picking out colors for this card and with using the punches and nesties. *WOOT, WOOT*

Here is my card:

The apples are green because my kids love green apples (Granny Smith). Me I love the red ones because they are sweet. Apple Emma is so sweet and fun to color.
I enjoyed making this card, hope you like it.

Recipe:
Stamps: Oval All (SU) and Apple Emma (CC Designs)
Paper: Certain Celery, Pretty in Pink, Bravo Burgandy, Whisper White, Banbury DSP
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: ticket punch, medium oval & scalloped oval punches, Martha Stewart punch, Large and small scallopped nestabilities, Markers (SU), Bravo Burgandy Ribbon, pearls, dimensionals.

Sorry this is so short, I have to run to town to pick up my oldests son's first pair of glasses. Thanks to both challenges blogs it was a fun day for me. Thanks for popping in and saying hi!

Content-to-be-a-bella!

Today, was just one of those days, you know where you just feel blah...:(. Last night I told my friend Lori that I would make a card today, so I thought I should do something productive (LOL). Yesterday, I check out this challenge at The Play Date Cafe...low and behold it was a color challenge. How can you not love these colors. Thank you Julie Ranae for inviting me to come play. I just hope I did some justice to these wonderful colors. To go with these colors, I figured I needed a sketch challenge so I set out looking for one, guess what I found Card Patterns a weekly sketch challenge, they had this cute little sketch, that I knew was just perfect. Thank goodness Lori gave me the idea of what kind of stamp I should try to ink up today. Thanks girlie. I am not feeling so tired or blah anymore...I just love the crafting world out there who are able to inspire me out of a mood.

Here is what I came up with. Sorry if the picture is too close, I was having problems working my camera today and I just noticed it is tilted...LOL...the struggles of crafting...hee hee. The card is 5 1/2 x 51/2. This card I will be giving to my friend Helen's daughter, she turned 16. I hope she will like it.

The Recipe:
Stamp: Content to be a bell (Bella Stamps)
Paper: Basic Black, Bravo Burgandy, Temping Turquoise, Whisper White
Ink: Black
Accessories: Marker (SU), pearls, black brads, D'vine Swirl and Swiss Dots (Cuttlebug), Martha Stewart Punch, Paper Piercer, White and Black Ribbon, dimensionals
I guess I should go my son Robin is waiting for me to make him some chocolate chip waffles. Comments are always welcome, please let me know if there is anything you think I should change on the card or if you just like it or if you just want to say hi. Thanks for stopping bye and I hope you have a super night.

Til next time-think of someone you love and smile.

One Layered Card Attempt #2, Sympathy Cards

Okay, so today I thought I would give the one layer card another try (Stampin' Royalty Challenge #3). I had all these idea's going on in my head. My daughter could whip one together in no time, so I thought it was just me who made it so difficult. Guess what....nope it wasn't me it is very, very, very hard...LOL. I think that I lost quite a few brains cells today trying to come up with some sympathy cards.

My Uncle who was also my God father passed away on Satuday, so I have quite a few sympathy cards to make by Friday. When Leanne and I were out a Micheal's a couple of weekends ago I found this stamp set with the cross in it. It is a beautiful set. I thought that I would use the cross with some sayings. On the black and white card the saying is from a Verve stamp set. The other saying is from an Stampin' Up set.

So here is my 2nd one layer attempt:

The brown cross was my first attempt. I really liked the coloring. Looking at it and looking at it I decided I needed to make it softer too white. I used my daubers probably should have used some sponges. I think I added to much color and still feel that it is missing something.

Over all they turned out okay. I will try again with layers, never realized how much I love them...LOL. I bow down to all the ladies who designed the challenge and all the ladies that entered it. It was tough but you all did a fanastic job. This will have to be tried again....lol...at a much later date...hee hee.

Recipe:

Stamps: Spiritual Sketches (Inkadinkado), Thoughts and Prayers (SU), Forever in Our Hearts (Verve)

Paper: Whisper White

Ink: Basic Black, chocolate chip, real red, pretty in pink.

Accessories: Pearls, paper piercer and Markers (SU)

Thanks for stopping bye. Hope you enjoy your day and thanks for your comments, they are awesome.

Chillaxin with Mom and Lori

I was grateful today to spend most of my day with my mom and my friend Lori. We were to have our first card class of the year, but due to the weather everyone else cancelled :(. On the bright side we took some time to create whatever we wanted. Lori made two awesome cards with several different challenges. Me I was just busy yapping and laughing, so it took me most of the day to work on my one...LOL...go figure...hee hee. I am very happy with how it turned out.

Today, being Sunday I hoped on over to The Sweetest Thing to see what awesome challenge Karen came up with this week. It is another beauty!!!

I then hoped on over to Scrapmaster's Paradise to see what color combo Samantha came up with this week and let me tell you it is very cool. At first I wasn't sure about these colors. But again they look super amazing together. The Diva's showcased these colors wonderfully. Thanks for the inspiration.

I am sweet on Riley the Moose! Isn't he just the cutest little moose? This is the first time I was able to stamp him. This cute stamp is Lori's, so glad she gave me a chance to ink him...*wink, wink.* I was able today to use some nestabilities that I have always wanted to try. A big thanks goes out to Lori to letting me invade her craftroom and sharing her stuff.
Recipe:
Stamp: Riley (not sure what he is called) and the Sentiment (not sure)
Paper: Real Red, Apricot Appeal, Pretty in Pink and White.
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: paper piercer, markers (SU), Scalloped Trimmed Border (??), dimensionals, nestabilities, Swiss Dots Folder (Cuttlebug)

I hope you enjoy this cutie as much as I do. Thanks for stopping in. May you have a super night and totally fab Monday.

Kaitlyn's First Challenge Card

Okay, so when I was making up my card last night for the Stampin' Royalty Challenge #3 my daughter wanted to do it too! She said she wanted the scalloped circles I had cut out...laughing I said okay. Kaitlyn said "Mom what is the point of your challenge thing?"..LOL. I told her I had to make a card with no layers...her reply..."mom, it is easy, why are you thinking so much...LOL" Out of the mouth of babes. She is 7 years old and loves to craft. I don't know exactly all she used for her card, but I do know the stamp is SU and SU markers. She also used my daubers. I am linking this just because she wanted me to show everyone that she had no problem doing a one layer card (not like me...LOL). As I say this I am laughing because I started my card before her and she was done before me. She did a really great job and I am proud of her (the only thing that she asked for help with was her bow). Thanks for stopping bye to see her card.

Kaitlyn thanks for sharing craft time with mommy and working on a challenge with me. She gave her card to her very best friend Kim.

Stampin' Royalty and a Challenge to Lori!!

Earlier, this evening I was having a good conversation with my Stampin Up guru and amazing friend Lori. Since I have known her she has created amazing works of art in whatever craft she does. We were both talking about making a card so there it was a card Challenge throwdown by you guessed my friend Lori. The crafting was on my friend. I will let you in on a secret, I love it when Lori Challenges me. You know why....well it is because I get to see what her crafty mind is coming up with and it pushes me to make something too! Thanks chickie...for the great challenge tonight.

The Stampin' Royalty Challenge Blog is amazing. I posted the Challenge #2 color combo, because I loved the color, but was unable to put a card in due to my son being sick (not my orginal idea, but what the heck this turned out good too :). Challenge #3 this week was very interesting. It is one layer only...that was a real challenge. These ladies are amazing, the cards they posted were something else...thanks for this wonderful challenge.

This is what I came up with:

The challenge is to make a one-layered card. Although it might not appear to be a one layered card it is. The paper I used is Whisper White. I took the large scalloped nestablilities to cut a hole in the front of the card. I then took the Princess Ava stamp from Greeting Farm and stamped it on the inside of the card. To help with the 3-D look I took Pale Plum ink and daubered it around the scallops on the front of the card. I then took Elegant Eggplant ink and daubered it on the inside of the card around the stamped area. I used for SU markers (certain celery, real red, crushed curry, pale plum, elegant eggplant, rich razzleberry, close to cocoa and blush blossom. The ribbon is elegant eggplant.

As it is so late, I will edit this post tomorrow and put the recipe on here. Thanks for stoppin' bye. Til next time remember something fun, a laugh always makes you feel better.

P.S. I will link my daughter's card that she made with me tomorrow too. She did an amazing job for 7 years old.

No card today! :( :( :(

Hi fellow crafters, I hope to have a card on here for tomorrow, from three fanastic challenges. My challenge is that my son has become sick and we are not sure what he has. It could be his appendix, but we are waiting for some blood work to come back. As he is in alot of pain I have not been able to craft, so tomorrow morning I hope will be my morning. Missing you all in the craft world, but thank you for stopping in and supporting me. As always I have seen some very amazing cards out their. *woot, woot*

Til next time hope you are all having a wonderful day!!!

A Quickie!!!

Today, was an amazing day! Kaitlyn and I went with to see Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakel with Leanne and Kim (loved it). Tristan, Robin and Calvin went and saw Avatar in 3D, their decided opinions that it was the best movie they have ever seen...LOL! They are 13 and 10 hee hee, old and wise...been to alot of movies (not..LOL). While we waited for them we took a little shopping trip to Micheals, which was awesome, Leanne and I found some little goodies, well so did the girls. So the card below was for Calvin for his birthday. I was to make him this really cool card last night, but I guess the day just tuckered me out and I sat down to read a book and go to bed early. Yep, I should be known as last minute Tamie...LOL, because, I got up this morning and popped this little birthday card out in less than 20 mintues (my fastest card yet...hee hee). Thank goodness, for the SPCC challenge yesterday (So Saffron, Only Orange and Very Vanilla). Instead of Very Vanilla though I used white card stock. Here is the quickie:

Sorry no time for the recipe tonight, I have to run and get laundry done...cuz I guess the kids want clothes to wear to school*wink*!

Wishing you all a wonderful night. Thanks for stopping bye.

Orange You Glad You Peeked!!!!

The last few days I have not been able to sit and craft *sadness*. I was recovering from a day surgery (which the power of good thoughts had me believing I was a machine and would be pumping out cards that day and yesterday....NOT!!!hee hee). So today I feel better and my nephews came to play with my kids, so that allowed me some time to craft. Can you say happy again, it feels marvelous to make a card after a few days. Maybe I will be lucky enough to make another one tonight. I do have 2 birthday cards I need to due. One for tomorrow...LOL. Nothing like procrastination...LOL.

Do you like surprises? I sure do and I got one today. When I was copying the color combo picture at Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Challenge, I scrolled down and guess what I saw....can you guess???? I made TOP 5 for Color Combo #29, click here. *WHOOT, WHOOT*. I still have to copy my button for this one and the last one. What a feel good moment. Congratulations to everyone, I looked at all the works of art and they were wonderful!!! Thank you also for the amazing honor. The DT's and creator do an amazing job and thanks for taking the time to comment. It sure does make a person feel good. Today, I used their SPCC color combo #30, which were great colors as always. The sketch I used is just down below.

Laura Sketch #43 is just awesome. I knew what I wanted to do immediately! Please check out 2 Sketches 4 You. They have a bonus sketch for this week by Sankari's. Any sketches have to be in by midnight tonight US mountain time. Another last minute one for me. I hope to do the bonus sketch later tonight.
This is what a came up with. Everything just seemed to work.

I went looking through my stash of glitter and found the Stampin' Up Fine Supernova Glitter and orange yet *sweet*. Glitter was very where in my room and on me...LOL. A little clumpsiness on my part. So like a very nice Auntie I put orange glitter on my 15 year old nephew. Needless to say I think he thought I was nuts...LOL!!! I like pulling pranks on them. Oh and as you can see no embossing. What a change...LOL.
The card picture is a little dark, but when you look at it in person it sure does glitter. Hoping one of these pic's show you that.

Recipe:
Stamp: Stem Silhouettes (SU)
Paper: So Saffron, Only Orange, Very Vanilla, Washington Apple DSP
Ink: So Saffron, Only Orange
Accessories: Martha Stewart Punches (set), Ticket punch, So Saffron Brads, Fine supernova Glitter (orange, SU). Paper Piercer, Orange and yellow flowers, glue pen, So Saffron Ribbon.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day and hoping this is not the last time I see you today.

Til next time - Happy crafting.

Fairweathered Friends

Guess the coffee hasn't completely worn off yet...LOL. I have managed to complete another card tonight (just as I was hoping too). My darling hubby took the kids to rec night and I ran as fast as I could to my craft area...*wink.* These blogs were ones that I looked at the other day and had decided I wanted to give them a try.

The Pink Elephant had a Theme Challenge on this week (Challenge #49). What was the challenge you say....well it was BIRTHDAY!!!! I love making birthday cards so once again it was working with my Mojo...hee hee.
The sketch that I tried to follow was amazing. Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #56. I have been looking at this blog challenge for months now but this is the first time I am able to try it. Thanks Mercy for a fabulous sketch. It was wonderful to work with.

Sweet Stampin Colour Challenge #8 was very challenging. Emma had asked for us to use at least three of the colors...but with the caffeine pumping through my veins I thought I was brave enough to try all four. Now I will admit, at first it was easy, but then I did struggle with the layer of colors I had in my head. Emma thank you for the awesome color combo.

Sweet nibblets, as I am typing this up, I noticed that I missed a layer on Mercy's Sketch. I am sorry about that. I did try hard to do justice to all of the challenges. Sorry about that Mercy. Guess my Mojo affected my eye's, I didn't see the black layer...LOL. I was able to use my new Nestabilities...it just added to the excitement tonight. :) I also pulled out the very first stamp set I bought. The poor things have been so neglected...but not anymore!!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Fairweathered Friends (SU)
Paper: Certianly Celery, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Almost Amethyst, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black (SU)
Accessories: Markers (SU), Punch (SU), Rose Red Brads (SU), Rose Red Ribbon (SU), Certainly Celery Ribbon (SU), Swiss Dots and Spots & Dots (Cuttlebug), Paper Piercing, Small & Large (Nestabilities).
Tonight I enjoyed all of my challenges, each one offered me something new, a chance to step out of my creativity box, so thank you. I hope that you enjoy this card and I would like to say thank you for popping in and supporting my habit..LOL.
Til next time I am sharing a coffee enduced smile...LOL. :) :)

Heard from the Heart

Have you ever had a day where you are so happy and the crafting bug comes a calling? Well, today was that way for me! I went to visit with a couple of my girlfriends and it was wonderful. I never drink coffee but I had one today...LOL. I was just a buzzing around and idea's running through my head...LOL...it was CRAZY!!! So down stairs I went with my music on and some really great challenges I looked up the other day, it was a piece of cake.

The Sweetest Sunday Sketch Challenge #51. I knew the stamps I wanted to use right away, but I needed colors so.............

I jumped right on over to Stacey's Curtain Call and she had Act #12 up (thanks Stacey for the wonderful colors...LOVE them). These two challenges were perfect for one another.
This is my take on the two great challenges.

Stamps: Heard from the Heart and Seasonal Icons (both SU)
Ink: Chocolate Chip and Red Rose
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Red Rose, Pretty in Pink and Very Vanilla (all SU)
Accessories: 1", 1 1/4", 1 3/8" circle punches (SU), Scalloped Punch (SU), paper piercer, flowers, buttons, dazzling diamonds (SU), scissors, glue pen, D'vine Swirl folder (Cuttlebug), pink stickles, cinnamon stickles, chocolate chip ribbon(SU), pretty in pink ribbon (SU) and dimensionals.
This has been a good day but I would love to be able to make one more card tonight. Tomorrow will be a busy day for me, but I hope I can do another challenge. Although, I am losing my buzz from the coffee I drank...that is just to funny. I might need a Mortin...hee hee.
Thanks for stopping in and sharing my latest creation. Have a wonderful night.

Stampin with Riley!

Look at this little cutie!!! My friend Leanne came for a visit. A fun filled visit it was. So I took her down to show her my new shelf and how I am now a little more organized. We were discussing stamping techniques and she said well let's try it. She trimmed my Riley up and stamped him....can you say cute!!!!!

My mom and I were watching in utter amazement. Leanne went through my scrap pile of paper and just started pulling out pieces of paper, mixing and matching. The amazing part was in a 1/2 hour she was completed the card...LOL. A great job too! Riley was scared of burning so he put on a little to much sun screen...hee hee. I really love her use of the pearls too. Mom and I hope that someday we can put one together that fast.

Leanne is very talented and can craft anywhere. Thanks for everything and the great card.

Kazan's Sketch #43 and SPCC # 29

What an exciting night for me. I went to get this weeks color challenge from SPCC and guess what....can you guess???? I made TOP 5 for Challenge #28. Thank you once again for such a great honor. It made my day!!!! :). If you would like to see the card click here. Congratulations to the winners and the other TOP 5 Crafters.

Now on to the card for the night. I went to 2 Sketches 4 You and saw that Kazan's had put Sketch #43 up. Right away I knew what stamp I would use and that I should tie it together with the difficult color challenge from SPCC #29. You should check out these challenge sites they are always amazing and all the Diva's and Creator's do a wonderful job on the color combo's and sketches each week.

Kazan's Sketch #43, it was another great sketch to create with.

Samantha this color combo was a challenge for me alright (LOL), but I think I was able to make it work.
Here is my creation. I made this birthday card for a friend of mine. I am hoping she will like it.

Recipe:
Stamps: It's Your Birthday and Thoughts & Prayers (both SU)
Paper: Brillant Blue, Melon Mambo, Rose Red, Lavender Lace, Whisper White
Ink: Markers (SU), Brillant Blue, Melon Mambo, Rose Red, Lavender Lace and Basic Black.
Accessories: Rose Red Ribbon, Swiss Dots and Perfectly Paisley folders(Cuttlebug), dimensionals and paper piercer.

The hardest part for me was how I should lay the colors out. It was nice to relax and create something today. I am still in pain but nothing like a little music, some good challenges to take my mind off of it for a while :). I was hoping to get a few challenges done but I had to take down all of my christmas stuff. My house looks so bare now...LOL, but it is back to normal.

Tomorrow, I am lucky enough to have my parents, and my friend Leanne come for a visit. Leanne will be bring my other friends kids with her. It is a truly going to be a great day. With Leanne their is always so many laughs and giggles.

Wishing you all the most wonderful day tomorrow, if I don't get on here. Happy crafting and thanks for stopping in. I enjoy seeing you and your comments.

Happy Birthday!

Well today, is an exciting day for me. My oldest son turns 13. Where has time went? I just don't know, it seems like yesterday I was holding him in my arms...now he is 1/4 inch shy of 6 feet tall and I have to reach up to hug him. Hmmm. I must say today I have struggled with him becoming a teenager (yes some silly tears have flowed, hate to admit it, but it is true) and also because I lost my dad at 13. He is a very, very lucky boy to have his dad here with him.
Tristan loves horses and he has taken to wearing black (he does like some color though :o), sooooo I thought the two would be perfect for a card. I cased part of this card from my friend Lori's one stack a stamp christmas card. I changed some things to make it my own (colors, two top notes, a different cuttlebug folder, no ribbon, no daubers and different stamps). A huge thanks go out to her, because I was under the gun once again *wink*. The last few days have not been kind to me...Pain has set in and stoled my MOJO and let me tell you I want it back...LOL. Oh, well things can only get better, right????.

There is a new blog challenge out there that everyone should have a look at. It is called Stampin Royalty. All the DT's have done an amazing job on the first challenge and the cards are awesome!!!!! How did I find this new challenge blog, well it was from Sandra Farrell, Stamper on the Shore. With my son's permission I am posting this birthday card onto the challenge. Oh ya, in my ramblings I forgot to tell you their first challenge is a birthday card, to celebrate their birthday and launch.

So here is the big birthday card.

Recipe:
Stamps: Bareback and It's Your Birthday (SU)
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, DSP (SU)
Ink: Vera Mark
Accessories: Top Note (SU), black embossing powder, D'vine Swirl folder (cuttlebug), black pearls, dimensionals, heating gun.

Sorry the posts have not been regular lately, I hope that changes soon. :).
Thanks for stopping bye and your comments they are really appreciated.

Til next time I am sharing a smile with you!!!!

Seaside Girls

Helloooooooo, out there!!! Today, was one of those days, that I thought would be productive craft wise...but between the phone and trying to get cookies made for school, an early supper and laundry done...well...crafting just had to wait:( I am however very proud of myself that it isn't Midnight or 1am....LOL. Right now it is 10:23 pm and I should be in bed at a decent time...LOL. My day tomorrow will start early. Besides my three kids I will have 4 others before school, so I will have to make quite a bit of breakfast. I then have my little guy that I look after coming over after I get everyone off to school. It will sure be a busy day. I sure did enjoy my holidays though but am ready for everyone to head back to school and routine.

Now on to crafting business....some of the most important business:) I was blog surfing today and found two new challenges. The Curtain Call Color Challenge, I found on my friend Melissa's Blog. In the last few days I was blog surfing and finding a whole whack load of cool new challenge blogs to try. I do look forward to trying them all. The second one I found was from 365 Cards- Super Sunday Sketch. Both of the challenges seemed interesting and something that I could put together quickly. It was also very cool to see how many talented crafters their are out here in blogger land. I saw some really amazing blogs and keep adding to my already long list *wink*.

This is my take on both of these wonderful challenges.
The girls are so adorable!!! I thought they were perfect for this challenge.

I just noticed that the brads don't look as dark as they should. Sorry it must be from the light reflecting on the table.
Recipe:
Stamps: Seaside Sketches (SU), Verve Stamp
Paper: Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Going Grey, Whisper White and Cottage Wall DSP
Ink: Stazon Black Ink
Accessories: Markers (SU), Always Artichocke Brads, Ticket corner punch and a Martha Stewart punch, sponge daubers.

Two Challenges in One

Happy New Years to all of my family, friends and crafting bloggers. How was your New Years? Mine was wonderful, we spent it with long time family friends. The laughter was non stop and the card playing was amazing. The kids all had fun playing outside in the snow and just being with each other too.

When we got home I was talking with Lori and we looked at Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge to see if either of us won their fantastic blog candy. Well we didn't but congratulations to who did, HOWEVER...the exciting part was they posted their first challenge. It could be whatever color and design you wanted but the Diva's suggested using their blog colors, so I picked a few. I then went to Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge and she had posted a new sketch too #96. With two great idea's the inspiration just flowed. Making this card was a great way to relax tonight as I was doing laundry.

Here is the sketch for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge:

This is what I came up with for the two challenges. I can't wait for my circle spellbinders to come, I struggled cutting my circle this time since it was not the size of my cups...LOL. The things we do for what we love...LOL!!! I was getting tired so I forgot my dazzling diamonds on the wings and wand. I will put them on first thing....well I guess later today, since it is currently 1:00 a.m.

Paper: Real Red, Pink Passion, Basic Black, Pixie Pink, Whisper White
