Okay, so today I thought I would give the one layer card another try (Stampin' Royalty Challenge #3). I had all these idea's going on in my head. My daughter could whip one together in no time, so I thought it was just me who made it so difficult. Guess what....nope it wasn't me it is very, very, very hard...LOL. I think that I lost quite a few brains cells today trying to come up with some sympathy cards. My Uncle who was also my God father passed away on Satuday, so I have quite a few sympathy cards to make by Friday. When Leanne and I were out a Micheal's a couple of weekends ago I found this stamp set with the cross in it. It is a beautiful set. I thought that I would use the cross with some sayings. On the black and white card the saying is from a Verve stamp set. The other saying is from an Stampin' Up set.
So here is my 2nd one layer attempt:
The brown cross was my first attempt. I really liked the coloring. Looking at it and looking at it I decided I needed to make it softer too white. I used my daubers probably should have used some sponges. I think I added to much color and still feel that it is missing something.
Over all they turned out okay. I will try again with layers, never realized how much I love them...LOL. I bow down to all the ladies who designed the challenge and all the ladies that entered it. It was tough but you all did a fanastic job. This will have to be tried again....lol...at a much later date...hee hee.Recipe:
