Easter and Prize Week at 4 Crafty Chicks.

Good morning! Well today is a very special day for me. Today, I welcome another teenager into my house. My middle son Robin who is a fabulous and fantastic person, who has had to deal with so many difficult situations in the last year turns 13 years old today! Robin know that we love you and that we are wishing you tons of love and laughter this year. May this year be filled with more joy than the last. We are so proud of you and we love you :)

Okay, so enough of my teary eyed babbling...LOL. Today is Thursday and you know what that means, we have another fantastic challenge for you over at 4 Crafty Chicks. This week I am your hostess...and let me tell you the girls have so much inspiration to share with you.

CHALLENGE #83 - EASTER
(bunnies, chocolate, flowers, Jesus...what does it mean to you)

Man this challenge I was truly all over the place. I was babysitting and the young girl said to me, when are you going to make up your mind...LOL. Flowers that were made from eggs, then a stamped image of a bunny holding Easter eggs, then a cross and finally I settled on the bible and the word rejoice. This year is a reminder to me to think about and appreciate what Jesus did for me...it is a reason to celebrate. Oh, but I still want some chocolate from that Easter bunny. I hope you like it?

Music Inspired at 4 Crafty Chicks

Hello crafty peeps. Thank you so much to everyone for playing last week. The creations were phenomenal.

Over at 4 Crafty Chicks our beautiful and very talented Lori (Inkingly Yours) is our hostess with the mostess this week. She has a fabulous challenge for us this week. Anyone who know her, know that she loves her music. She is either singing it or while she is crafting typing it up for all of us to join in.

CHALLENGE #82 - MUSIC INSPIRED
(could even be a card inspired by a song...be sure to tell us what song)

Music has always been part of my life, so I loved this challenge. I listen to pretty much everything, depending on my mood and well too tell you the truth my kids are introducing me to the stuff they like...LOL. Most of it is good but other stuff well...enough said...LOL.

The sentiment I used is one of Stampin Up and truly one of my faves also circle punches and corner rounder were used. It doesn't matter what you are feeling music can express what we just can't say. The paper came from a pack at Micheal's and I thought was completely perfect for this challenge. My card is clean and simple but I tried to spruce it up a bit with some swirls...it might be too much.

The paper reminds me of the days when I used to play trumpet. When I first started my favorite song that I learned to play was Baby Elephant Walk...we thought we were so big when it was our turn to play it. My dad's family played so many instruments and sang. It was always a blast at family functions because music was a huge part of it. Hope music has a place in your life.

I would like to enter my card into the following fantastic challenges:

Make It Monday - Anything Goes

Creative Card Crew - #6 Vintage

Milk Coffee Challenge - #1 Anything Goes

Come on over and join us at 4 Crafty Chicks, we love see the inspiration you all share with us each week. Yes, we enjoy stopping bye to see you blogs too. Leanne, Melissa, Lori and Kasey (GDT) have really amazing creations to share this week. Can't wait too see what you create!

Coloring Embossing Folders for Dimensions

Hi everyone I am back with another SP and Company post and I want to show you another way to add dimension to your layering. Today, I chose to use the Spring Bunny Single Stamp and Easter Bunny Sentiments. It can also be a fun and easy way to make your own colors of designer paper. Embossing folders can be so versatile.

I started off with cutting my white card stock. Then I cut my brown and blue paper.

I tried to take a picture of the embossing folder I was using. It is a Tuscan Tiles and has tons of texture.

The next step is to open up the embossing folder and stamp one side of it. The bottom side was inked up for this card using blue ink. You have to make sure you have good coverage of ink.

Oh, I forgot to get you a picture of running the paper through my Cuttlebug. You put you paper in your embossing folder and then run it through your embossing machine. Try really hard not to move the paper inside the folder otherwise it can turn out blurry. This is what it looks like when it comes out.

Here is part of the card layed together so that you can see how the colored embossing looks.

Here is the final product with these super fun clear stamps. There is a little bit of ribbon, a few pearls but mostly it is clean and simple to show you how by inking up your embossing folder you can add very effective dimension to your card and create your own designer paper.

Sorry the pictures are not as clear as they could be. I was using another camera...that I don't know how to work :)

Thank you so much for stopping bye today. Please join us again tomorrow at SP Blog for some more inspiration.

CHICKS RULE at 4 Crafty Chicks!

Helllooooo crafting peeps! Last week was soooo super dooper busy and well filled with a little too much drama. Congratulation's goes out to my boys basketball team, they won Gold for the District league in Leduc. They were undefeated and my oldest son went undefeated with jump ball this year. So proud of the whole team. Super fun to cheer on both of my boys.

So this week, it is my turn to be hostess over at 4 Crafty Chicks. When making up my challenge, I was thinking of who are special to me and well one group would be my girlfriends. One memory came to mind when I saw this stamp and that was it up to the counter I went with it. So one day a couple of years ago the 4 Chicks (Lori, Leanne, Melissa and myself) were at a stamping day. We were early as we were helping Lori to set up. Leanne had just gotten a new camera and well we thought it would be fun to put it too good use. We had the tunes cranked and we were trying to be Charlies Angels. Everyone else did so good a their serious looks. Me, I had a smirk the whole time and kept laughing. Nope, I would not make a good Angel...ha ha ha. Here is my creation, hope you like it!

Four girls who love to laugh and craft!!

We have so many stamping memories that I will cherish so much with these girls. Thanks for the smiles, the laughs and the joy of working together on our blog.
